“andbeautiful” is a new hair salon opened with the concept of “a life enriched by beauty.” The salon contains a cutting space with four seats, two shampoo stations, a staff lounge, and reception. Based around three properties imagined from hair, the interior design is intended to echo floating lightness, prettiness, and delicateness.
The cutting space features large round mirrors, framing the client and stylist to ease communication and styling. High color-rendering lights abutting the mirrors illuminate client skins just like natural light and remain functional for the stylist throughout the day.
A long counter beneath the mirrors is spacious enough to host drinks, tablets-cum-hair catalogs, and small articles. Running toward the back of the salon, the counter highlights a sense of depth while accommodating electrical cords linked to the lights and power outlets. The mirrors and counter are set to create a floating impression on an original white concrete block wall dividing the salon from the adjacent space. Complementing the interior with the uneven wall texture, the whole space communicates simple beauty.
Custom oak cabinetry, meeting a need for ample storage, turned a voluminous feature into one that creates a soft, natural ambience. The reception waiting space is separated from the cutting space by a ceramic-tile floor decor and doubles as a spot to photograph hair models against the white wall background.
